Imagine if cooperating with friends, neighbors or strangers took no effort at all.

Between wanting to do something and doing it, someone has to make the plan, ask everyone and chase the replies. Usually it all falls on one person. On Azemble you start an event, put down what it needs, and people cooperatively put it together.

Claim something. Everyone on the event sees it at once.

An example you can play with. Nothing is saved or sent.

You want to do the thing. You don't necessarily want to run it.

Say you'd love a regular dinner with a group of old friends. You're happy to cook, but you just don't want to be in charge of every little detail.

On Azemble you can plan it cooperatively, and everyone can help put it together. People vote on a date, claim something to bring, take a task. You can see what's sorted and what still needs someone.

Bringing a pot of soup is an easier yes than “help me organize this.”

Pick what your plan needs.

Every event is built from blocks. Add one and try it.

Ana I'll do the soup if someone brings bowls.

Date set: Sun 25 Oct · 13:00

Miguel I have bowls. Bringing ten.

Everyone on the event talks in one place. Plan updates show up in it too.

Some things are worth doing even when nobody makes money from them.

A dinner to meet your neighbors. An amateur soccer tournament, a community garden, a jam session at the park, a hackathon, a game night or simply just a fun party...

Going out with friends and spending money is fine. It just shouldn't be the only easy way to spend time with people. When organizing takes less effort, more innovative, inspiring and specific ideas that would never work as a business get a chance to exist.

Create events from a template. You don't have to figure it out from scratch.

If your clothes swap went well, another group should be able to use what you learned. Turn an event into a template: the tasks, lists and practical details travel. The date, the people, and the items and tasks they claim stay in your event.

The next group will do it differently, and maybe better. Then they can turn their version into a template too, so the plan keeps improving.

Why I created Azemble.

I created Azemble because there are a lot of things that people could do together that never happen because organizing them is too difficult. Even among friends, coordinating time, money, decisions and responsibilities takes work. With strangers, there's also the challenge of building trust, or simply finding people who are interested.

At work, we have tools and structures to manage complicated projects. I wanted to make that kind of coordination accessible in everyday life: organizing a trip, putting on an event, or bringing a shared idea to life.

I want Azemble to be a tool where people can plan fun social activities, meet people and gain experience cooperating. But also a tool that can later organize more ambitious projects: a community space, shared resources, mutual aid, disaster response, and all of the things that we can't accomplish alone and that nobody has an interest in doing for us.

I also want successful projects to become easier for others to repeat. Every group shouldn't have to figure everything out from scratch. What one group learns should become a starting point for the next, which is why I created templates.

I want people to have more power to accomplish their ideas and tackle the problems that affect their lives through working together. And I believe Azemble is a good starting point.
